Lloyd needed to take all his school computer stuff from the basement back to his classroom today and I tagged along. After helping him unload, I went on a quest for a better olive container.
We typically use a third to a half-can of olives at a time, and put the leftovers in a Pyrex bowl with a lid, the lid that lets all the olive juice spill all over the refrigerator. That means the bowl sits on a plate, and that has been annoying for the past twenty years.
Dollar Tree had my back: a berry container that has an integrated strainer! Woo-hoo!
My olives are saved. Breathe easy, everyone.

Hehehe… Twenty years? That makes me think of all the times I’ve kept using some old broken-down thing instead of just getting a new one.
And now I’m thinking about the subreddit called Buy It for Life

Well, thank you for that rabbit hole. My frugal subreddit people say similar things: don’t be cheap, be smart. Have only the stuff you need, but make sure that stuff is good so that it will last.
This container is definitely cheaply made, but the design is perfect. How will I find a good one? Another quest!! 🙂
