Weary

I don’t want to stir the pot with this post. Several people in my world are on very different parts of the COVID-opinion spectrum, and while I honor all viewpoints, honestly, for me it’s about the nuts-and-bolts situations.

At my work, it is inconvenient for one person to be absent, but manageable. Two people? Doubly inconvenient. My director is a rock star at shuffling people around to cover the classrooms, but it is time-consuming and stressful. Today there was new information from a family and college students requiring yet more shuffling (I won’t go into details) and I stayed late for moral support and whatever else I could do.

Ugh.

So, right now we were working with a stretched staff, and for a while it will be even more so. It is more than inconvenient – it is wearing.

For me personally, I have a pretty strong immune system. If I would get sick, I would most likely pull through alright. HOWEVER, I am ACUTELY AWARE of how my absence would create a domino effect of inconvenience and trouble. People’s actions affect other people’s lives.

There. Was that vague enough for you? Now, here’s the kicker: No COVID-related responses. If you comment, Brad, you have to tell me the size of the print you’d like of the cats in the laundry basket. Everyone else, chime in on that, too. If you have no opinions on the print, tell me how many carrots you think are acceptable in a stew.

I would like a 4x6 of the laundry baskets, please. I’ll put it in my home office to remind my coworker he needs to be cuter

Each laundry basket holds approximately one full-sized or over-sized cat.

    Is that vague enough?

Yes! The guilt! Ugh. And preparing sub plans is WAY harder than being at work sick, though that wouldn’t really be an option if you got covid…

A 4x6 would look great on the wall behind my desk at school 🙂
