So, we have purchased a shed. Some nice people in Iowa are building it and will deliver it in about four or five weeks. In the meantime, the old shed has to go.
Have I shown you the old shed in all its dilapidated glory? It’s super bad. The shingles came off one part of the roof a long time ago and Lloyd sort-of fixed it this spring, but it still leaks. There are places that are incredibly rotten and moldy. The doors have rotted, leaving a nice space for stray cats to go inside with their kills and poop/pee on the cement. It. Is. Gross.
Sam, however, said that instead of tearing it down, we should list it on Seward Swap, a Facebook page. I said that was madness but did it anyway. Surprisingly, several people said they were interested, but have all backed out before coming to look at it.
Saturday was nice enough that Lloyd and I spent some time getting ready for the process. Who are we kidding? Lloyd did most of the work. I was decorating my Halloween car.
We’ll see if today’s visitor wants that old shed. In the meantime, here are photos of what the new shed will look like. It is 10′ x 16′, two feet longer than the old one. They will plonk it down on the old concrete pad, and it’s all nice and legal, thanks to our permit from the City of Seward.
The double doors will be behind the oak tree, and that is where the mower, wheelbarrow and ladders will go. The front area with the door and windows? Well, after I put up an interior wall, that’s where my Rich Inner World will spend the night on the weekends. 🙂 Me and the mice, we’ll be good pals.
