The shed is down and gone, and it was actually completed within three hours. I honestly thought this would be a three week process, minimum. This weekend to tear some of it off and make a pile, a weekend to recover, then a weekend to take it to the dump.
Nope. We started around nine with pry bars, a drill, mallets and some fierce determination, then Sam and Gracen came by with more implements of destruction. By 10:45, the trailer was loaded up and Sam and Lloyd took it to the dump near the next town (which closes at 11:30 on Saturdays).
The internet said to start with the shingles and trim, then remove the roof and then the walls. (My Dad’s recommendation was to hang an eighth of a stick of dynamite inside and set it off, which would loosen the nails. I like how the man thinks.)
May I present, “Bye, Shed,” in less than one minute:

It’s like an Amish barn-raising in reverse! And now you have that giant pad of cement. You should tap dance on it!
Deborah says
Yay! That looks so nice. I can’t wait to see the new shed.
Kristi says
That is an impressive bit of work! Congrats to the work-crew!
