So, yesterday when I sent Lloyd a text with my news, he sent back his 911 story. That Lloyd. He’s always gotta one-up me.
I’m in quarantine. A boy in my class tested positive, and since we don’t wear masks, we’re all out for at least 11 days. I’m not super-duper concerned, but I am keeping track of my health and will go in for a test today.
Parents have been kind. Thankfully, they are not charged when whole-class quarantine happens. However, I am still paid (salaried worker), so I’ve been making ‘school-at-home’ videos and digging into some paperwork that has been sliding.
As short as this may be, it is a bit of a blessing. It is a huge headache to take off work. No matter how detailed my ‘daily schedule’ plans are, the children are not great for the sub and I have a stomachache the whole time away. This time – I am taking it as a very short sabbatical. I’m working a little, studying a little, but I’m not in a rush and my shoes are off the whole time. It’s guilt-free. I do so like guilt-free.
That’s all from here. Enjoy your Wednesday!

I’m glad you’re looking on the bright side of things. And I agree… I think this will be a good rest time for you 🙂

Enjoy your sabbatical! I’m looking forward to see what you’ll do in your shed.

Sabbatical -- That word always sounds like it’s for somebody really, really important. That would be you, Lauren! Way to go!
I was perusing the comments from other posts in the sidebar. I saw my comment from the 911 story. It reads, “Does she wear some kind of medical bra….” Yikes!

Enjoy your time off. Elderberry is a good antioxidant. Medical people or teachers. You must need a bit of both to teach. Stay well.
