The other side

May 3, 2021

The other shed thing that happened is I stained the playhouse side of the wall. I bought the panels when I was in quarantine. I bought my other wall panels at Menards, but they don’t do parking lot pick-up for that kind of thing. (They want you to go in and pick it out yourself.) Home Depot had no problem with it. They brought me the boards in their no-contact way, but they were way too light in color. So, on Saturday I bought some stain…….

Ugh. It did not go on well, and now that wall is way too dark.

What do I care? It’s a shed. Good enough for who it’s for.

That happened to us recently. We fixed it by paining over it with a mixture of half white paint and half water for a whitewash look. It really brightens it up. We’ve gotten lots of compliments on it, which cracks me up since it was a near disaster.

The dark wall paneling makes it look like the “study” of a rich person’s mansion. Awesome! Now all you need is a smoking jacket and a pipe, and you can sit reading a book in a high-backed chair by the fireplace. Awesome!

Now I want to do that.
