I made it to Eckert yesterday. I started driving Friday night, camped in the car at a campground in Gothenburg, Nebraska, then was up-and-at-em early in the morning.
I don’t believe I’ve driven this route myself since my thirties, and it wasn’t too bad. There were many stops, either for coffee, restroom breaks or just to walk around a little. I tried a nap along the way but some texts woke me up. No biggie.
It is good to see my family. Mom is on some medication that is helping her gut health (long story), and Dad and Kere are simply amazing in the loving, kind care they are giving. I hope that my being here a few days will be useful.

I haven’t done a long solo car trip in a while. I think I would stop a lot too. And I think a nap would would probably be on the list for me too. Hehe…
Continued prayers for your family…

I’m glad you could go see your family -- I am sure that is good for your heart.
Wasn’t there a pony express stop in Gothenburg? If so, did you see any riders? Our mail has been a little unreliable lately so I’ve been thinking a return to the Pony Express might be a good idea.
