Lloyd needed to work on my weekend. I was disappointed at first, but it actually added some interest to Saturday.
He said that we were going to work from 6 – 10, and then we could do anything I wanted. “In the morning?” I asked, aghast. Yes. Yes, in the morning.
Well, that meant leaving the house at 5:15, which meant that Council Fire had to happen beforehand. (Gotta keep those rituals.) So, at 4:30 a.m., I made a cup of coffee and stepped out….. into the rain. No problem. Back inside for a poncho and rain boots and had a quick fire before we loaded the car and drove to Lincoln.
Sam, Gracen and some girl from Lloyd’s tech crew joined us. Sam, Gracen and I fed wire from the rooms while Lloyd and Tech Girl crawled through the attics of the portable buildings getting them where they needed to go. Tech Girl had to leave at 7:30 for her mom’s birthday, so the rest of us carried on. There were eight classrooms and sure enough, we were done by 10.
We went out for breakfast with Sam and Gracen, and it was delightful. Then we parted ways – the boys going back to Seward and Lloyd and I hitting a couple of thrift/’antique’ shops, then home to nap.
In the evening, he went to a ball game and I met up with Deborah to eat.
All in all, a very nice day. Happy Sunday!
