Many, many weeks ago – back when the company was here – I discovered a leak under the kitchen counter. The sprayer hose had sprung a couple of tiny pinholes, so I ‘Laurened’ the situation until we could get a replacement.
Well, we bought a replacement pretty quick, and I even got it out of the box to look it over. However, life got in the way, so I put the box of stuff in the guest bedroom.
On Saturday morning, I was up bright and early for fire, and then tackled removing the old faucet. Let’s look at it first, though, and thank it for its service:
That’s right. It’s zip-tied to a paper towel holder and has a scrubby thing, attached with clothespins, blocking the pinhole leaks. I could have lived with it like this forever.
It took me an embarrassingly long time to remove it, and I have a new appreciation for plumbers. My arms weren’t long enough or strong enough, my tools were the wrong size, and my face kept getting in the way. Oy.
When Lloyd got up, we got out the new faucet….. and I realized I lost the directions. Awesome.
Thank goodness for the internet.
After reading through the almost-directions in four languages and figuring out what all the parts were, Lloyd hunkered down on my foam-covered folded table (you are welcome) and used his longer arms and less-clumsy face to get the job done.
Many mishaps occurred, but it got done. Now we have water…… just like we had before.
Don’t get too comfortable, faucet. You’ll break someday and then I’ll ‘fix’ you.
