There was a lot going on this weekend. I closed up the center on Friday and went right to Trivia Night. It’s a very good fundraiser that makes a bunch of money, encourages the participants to drink, and is overall very fun….. but it goes on so long. It wasn’t over until 10:45! (That wouldn’t have been so bad except we were going to get up early the next day.) We had a great team – Sam, Rachel, Samith, Stephannie and Annette. Two teams tied for first and three teams, of which we were one, tied for third! (No thanks to me…)
The next morning, we were up and at ‘em to get on the road by 4:30. We were headed to Missouri for a special highway dedication. Lloyd (and Sam and Brad) had a classmate, Mike Campbell, who was in the military and died in Iraq in 2004. Mike had a hard childhood – he and his siblings were abandoned by his mom, but he found family at St. Paul Lutheran School and especially with Sam’s family, who took him in like another son. The ceremony was wonderful, and I was glad to go. I recorded it but will need to upload it later. Here is a link to an article in the paper:

Afterward, we had lunch with Lloyd’s brother Aaron, which was very nice. We didn’t go see his parents, though, because they are working on getting over covid. Prayers are welcome, please.
I’ll tell you about the rest of the trip tomorrow. Happy Monday!
