Lloyd has been amazing at being the one to get the laundry processed. If he can get it in the washer, we will actually get a load done. (Left to my own devices I can let it go until it’s too late.)
On Sunday, while I was making a terrible dinner, he went down to swap the clothes. He hollered up that there was still a bunch of water in the washer.
uh-oh.
Sometimes that happens, and putting it on ‘spin’ usually breaks it out of its funk, but not this time. I suggested we eat our terrible dinner and tackle it later.
I Googled the situation and a very helpful man said the easiest thing to do is check to see if the drain hose is clogged.
I started on the fix, and was HORRIFIED by the guts of the washer. Everything was rusted and coated in mineral build-up and so, so much yuck. Also, I was too weak to pull the hose off myself, so I hollered for Lloyd.
He wrestled it off, we got it unplugged, and yes, that was the problem. HOWEVER, I think this poor machine has given its all, and it is time to start looking for a replacement.
Have I told you about how something has been broken for years and it spins out of control on the final spin cycle? It sounds like a jet is taking off in the basement. Well, we saw it in person and it was terrifying.
You might want to turn your sound down.
