It was a productive weekend. I didn’t get everything done, but the big one is (sorry for bringing this up again, Sam)…. our taxes are done!! Woo-hoo! A weight has been lifted. There are a lot of Big Things coming up that need to be done, and this was a big one.
Thursday, I sorted through receipts and called it good. Saturday, I woke up early and started to sort paperwork. Lloyd got up semi-early and started doing his tax prep work……. cleaning the house.
As it turns out, the thing that motivates us to clean the house is to avoid doing taxes. I’m not kidding – we cleaned out cabinets, did laundry, I scrubbed the stove, vacuumed, and by 9:30, we were ready for First Nap. We woke up, ate lunch, cleaned a little more…. then I rented a movie. Mid-way through the movie, we paused it and actually completed the taxes. Yay!
Saturday we had a delightful dinner with friends, Sunday was church (we saw Gretchen!!), and then I went to look at washing machines. When I got home, I started on a home project. (More on that later).
Ok, everyone. I have Parent-Teacher Conferences the next several evenings, so wish me luck and have a great day!
Gretchen says
Great to see you and congrats on completing your obligation as a US taxpayer.
Brad says
D’oh! Taxes!
I need to do mine still!
I have few days, though, right?
