We are getting some shade shelters on the playground. They’ve been in the works for a long time, but things happen. Anyway, this past week we have not been able to use the playground except for Tuesday.
One man has been doing the work. Our facilities director and the head trustee were here on Monday when he was digging, but this guy knows his stuff. He has a tiny bobcat that’s the stand-on-the-back kind, and he does EVERYTHING with it. Giant drill bit on the front to dig 6-foot-deep holes, forklift on the front to carry metal pieces, bucket on the front to move dirt and carry cement, and the most impressive part was how he put the top of the big shelter together. He assembled it on the ground and then lifted the whole thing up – suspended off his forklift – and then attached the legs.
It’s nearly done. The children have checked in on him from the windows and worked on some ‘thank you’ pictures. God bless him for working in this heat.
