john + the internet = awesome

December 23, 2006 by Lloyd 5 Comments

Watch as I harness the power of the interweb to bring about my master plan. Even now, as I sit here in the heart of my evil, if slightly chilly, lair typing this message, my evil plan is coming together. You see, once Brad got a website and Lauren got a website, I realized that anyone could have a website. Then (this actually took a while, but for narrative purposes lets say it it pretty much happened next) I thought, what if all the people who I always wonder what they are up to, but never talk to, had websites?

I have a picture with Sam in it somewhere too.

Normally, that sort of idle wondering would have been enough for me, and I would have gone back to reading a book or something. But not this time. No, not this time. This time I have set forth a chain of events mighty to behold and… um… now I sort of need some help. See, John and Cheri have a website: www.schmidly.com, and as we know, the fun bit about having a website is having other people post comments about the things on your website. So, for a limited time only, everyone who posts a comment on their site can be one of my evil minions.

Evil minions don’t have health benefits yet, but we are starting a 401k program at the start of the year. Ah yes, soon my plan will be complete.

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat…

December 23, 2006 by Lauren 1 Comment

Not much new to post today.  We’re packing things up to go to Missouri for Christmas, so this will be a busy day.  To keep you occupied, how ’bout you share a memory of a favorite present? Here’s a picture of our family when we lived in Delta.  (I’m 3, I think.)  Don’t these children […]

IF we sent out Christmas Cards

December 21, 2006 by Lauren 6 Comments

Ok, let’s just get it out in the open that this is NOT a real card – it’s just a funny thought that popped in my head, and like all prototypes, had to be carried out immediately. But if we WERE going to send out cards, this would be it.

No ice… update…

December 20, 2006 by Lloyd 4 Comments

Well, no ice after all. Our Christmas party went well, and the kids were good. They seemed to like the movie and told me that I look like Joseph. When Jesus was born they clapped (which was cute) and then about 2 minutes later they just clapped to see if they could get everyone to […]

Storm a’brewin

December 19, 2006 by Lauren 10 Comments

Posting this will guarantee that no bad weather will occur, I’m sure, but since we have nothing else to talk about – we’ll talk about the weather. Tonight & tomorrow we’re supposed to have some freezing rain headed in from the south. If Lloyd can’t get into school tomorrow, there will be some pros & […]

Birthday trivia

December 19, 2006 by Lloyd 11 Comments

I bet most of you don’t know (I feel pretty confident saying this, because I didn’t know until a few days ago) that I haven’t thrown away a belt in the last 20 years. Some of you have met my mom, and so that information probably doesn’t come as any real surprise. Be that as […]
