So, thanks to US Cellular guy, I went ahead and bought a memory card for the phone, and yes – it is wicked easy to download photos now. (Lloyd’s upset with me, though, because I didn’t get enough gee-bees for my esses-with-slashes.) I dunno – keep the phone or return it? Yeah, it takes pictures, but the shutter speed’s not very fast. It does great in bright light, but it seems that any picture with motion in it turns out poorly. On the other hand, the only thing I really take pictures for is this website. You people seem very forgiving of my blurry skills, so does it really matter? Would I walk around with just the phone and not carry my regular camera? What if I should meet a fast-moving famous person? How would I prove it happened?
This is the very first to-the-tiny-memory-card photo. I was walking back from the phone store.
It’s also an mp3 player, but I have enough people singing in my head to keep me entertained. What a quandry….
Kitt says
Not bad!
I can post photos directly to my blog from my cellphone, so I imagine you may be able to, also.
Deanne says
Doesn’t that require a web plan? Lauren, do you have a web plan? Or just the buck-a-minute thing?
Kitt says
You don’t need a web plan to email photos to your blog (or to yourself to adjust and upload). It may cost you to send a picture message, depending on your phone plan, but usually not more than 10 cents. It’s essentially the same thing as texting, just with different data.
Brad says
Ooo! Ooo! Get a Jitterbug! Then go out and buy a new camera if you want.
Lauren says
You know I love that phone!
Rae says
I love having a camera in my phone. I hate carrying multiple things and I try very hard not to carry a purse. Therefore, my phone and camera and I are best friends. I use the tiny little card (I like to call it a flake although that is not an official term) and download/upload pictures in a snap. And now that I have a camera with me all the time I am getting lots more pictures -- with cute, ornery, lovable kids that’s a good thing. Keep the phone!
Deanne says
I love that -- my flake. I’m getting a phone with a camera soon, so I’m going to need to figure all of this out!
Peggy says
I didn’t know you could get a phone with a “good” camera in it. Dnag. I’m so behind the times. I think my phone only has 1.21 gigawatts.
Excellent picture by the way…
Brad says
I’m sure that in 1985, plutonium is available in every corner drug store, but in 1955 it’s a little hard to come by.
Deanne says
My kids could also quote those lines… but isn’t it great that in the future, all it will take is a little garbage??!
Lauren says
You funny.
Peggy says
Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads?
us cellular guy says
glad it worked out for you lauren.
Lauren says
You’re my hero, us cellular guy! Would you like me to make you a breakaway shirt?
us cellular guy says
nah… i’m not so much a cape & tights kinda guy. but if you have a spare Iron Man suit hanging around, that would rock!
or, sticking with the discussion, just a DeLorean and 1.21 Gigawatts of power. You are my density!
Peggy says
Ha! Now make like a tree, and get outta here!
