Whew. It was a busy last day in Branson. We said goodbye to Mark & Matthew. (Rachel, we missed saying good-bye to you, but we’ll see you in St. Louis tomorrow.) Phil, you made this face, so I’m posting it. (Can you tell my family is a little nutty?)
Lloyd was ecstatic that we FINALLY got to go to Silver Dollar City today. He feels about Silver Dollar City how I feel about IKEA. Any amount of time spent there is not nearly enough. Next time we come here, he is spending every day there.
The day started out a little iffy. Apparently there was lightening in the air (over Kansas, I think), so they delayed the rides by 30 minutes and closed Marvel Cave until there would be no more chance of lightening. We were pretty disappointed, but there are many other things to see and do at SDC.
After about an hour, the cave was open! Seriously, click on the link above to take the 360 virtual tour. It will freak you out. That’s the big cavern when you start out (notice the stair tower that we walked down), and then you go climbing through the bowels of the earth for an hour. It was pretty awesome. My nephews were a tad freaked out, but they were champs.
Then we rode roller coasters. Some of us rode more than others, but all were content by the end of the experience.
Except Lloyd.
