There is one nursing home in Seward. (We have an assisted-living place, but that’s a little different.) This past year they have remodeled the whole shebang. There used to be two separate buildings but now it is all one, and it’s quite lovely. This was the first time I got to watch Lloyd have services in the chapel. It’s so pretty!
The whole place is lovely. Lots of warm colors and a very homey feeling. This is the little coffee area for guests in the front lobby:
Here’s a view from behind to a little living room area. There are little gathering rooms all over, and a couple of dining room/hangout areas for residents. The only downside is that it is a HUGE building and wandering all over gets confusing. I guess that’s nice so that no one can escape, but I might get a little concerned not knowing where I was. As an older person, I’m saying. I’m not saying I got lost on Sunday. No sir. Not saying that.
This is a peek into the workout room. That thing on the far left is a cushy table. I’m not sure what exercise it’s for, but sign me up.
Lloyd found the most interesting part of the workout room: The practice stairs. Isn’t that awesome? Steps, handrail, doors, other steps, even a mailbox to check! I’m not kidding – I could play on that for hours!
Nicely done, Ridgewood. Nicely done.
