Being sick this weekend and having the ice storm really put me off my game. I had planned to buy presents in Omaha for my students, but that didn’t happen. I was only able to get to Lincoln tonight and it was pretty pathetic. You can’t find very many religious things cheaply here. (Omaha has Nobbies, the storefront for Oriental Trading, so it’s easy to get fun things and not break the bank.) I spent a frantic evening rushing around to get the presents, ink for the school printer, frames for the kids to make presents for their parents, and food from Sam’s.
Hey, I discovered a new problem with the truck. I haven’t been able to unlock the passenger side door with my key for years now, and tonight I had the same problem with the driver’s side. That was bad – being stuck in a parking lot in Lincoln and not being able to get in. I started to call Lloyd, and then thankfully it unlocked. So if you ever happen to notice something worth stealing in my truck, take it – I’ll never lock it again.

Have you tried graphite lubricant in the lock? We have one car that every time I put the wrong car key in the door lock, it stops working. Arron goes out, squirts some of that in the lock and we’re good to go until I do it again. Yes, I’m proud to say I’ve done it multiple times. 🙂
Ummm, and could you post an inventory of the truck’s contents, please?
Brad says
Haha! Your truck reminds me of the old yellow station wagon. By the end of its time with me, the driver’s side door wouldn’t stay closed. When I was in the car, I’d hold it shut with a rope. When I got out of the car, I’d wedge it closed with a stick.
Lauren says
Don’t get me rope and a stick for Christmas, Santa.
Santa says
How about soap-on-a-rope and a peppermint stick?
Elf says
How about rope licorice and a stick of gum?
Peggy says
Omaha has nobbies? I would expect that kind of talk from Lloyd, but not you Lauren!

The automatic window on the driver’s side of our van doesn’t always go back up after you put it down. Very frustrating and very cold. Eventually it does go back up, but you never know how long it will take. Drive throughs are no longer any use to me.
