Poor planning

Journal

Lloyd’s school had their Homecoming football game tonight (Friday), and I had a few errands to run in Lincoln. I drove in, did my thangs, and then called him to see if he wanted to eat dinner. “Bring Burger King,” he answered. I did.

As we sit in his closet/office eating our Whoppers, he tells me that there’s an auction in the morning. The game won’t be done until late, and then we have to drive in again to be back in Lincoln by 9? “We should have just brought stuff and stayed in a hotel,” I sighed.

“Ok. Priceline one.” he agreed.

What? This is crazy talk! The craziest is that he has to chaperon the dance tomorrow night, and he doesn’t have a thing to wear. Well, going to Dollar Tree and Target got us some stuff to get us to tomorrow (deodorant, toothbrushes, cheap jammies), this very nice place has a laundry room, and then we’ll take it from there. Maybe some enchanted mice will make him a ball gown by morning.

Of course, my camera is back in Seward, so no photos. My biggest sorrow is that I’m always buying these things ‘in case of emergency’, and never have them on hand. I have a pre-packed bag of clothes and toiletries for just such an occasion….. back in Seward.

Maybe you could start wearing the pre-packed bag of clothes and toiletries as a fanny-pack.

You could have done your laundry for free in Susan’s classroom.

    And, I’m a little envious.
