Another day has come and gone,
another post need writing.
I think this might come out in rhyme,
though not very exciting.
Went to work and phones were out out
all over Nebraska.
Someone at Windstream messed up big –
tell anyone they’ll ask ya.*
Went to church and boo-hoo-hoo’d.
Lloyd thoughtfully brought tissues.
It makes my problems look so small-
Christ had much bigger issues.
So now the post is done and wrote,
and I think it’s your turn –
What’re your Easter weekend plans?
(Rhyming is not necessary.)
*also, I have mixed up my verbs due to poetic license or some such nonsense.

On my first day off for Easter, I’m going in to school so I can get some work done! Yay!
Peggy says
I want to make a rhyme,
But I haven’t the time.
I’m at work. I was going to whine about not being off any days for Easter & about how Matt will be home tonight, but has to be back at WP by 5:00pm Sunday…but it seems so petty in light of Good Friday.
My Easter weekend hasn’t really been planned yet…Que Sera que sera

I have often wondered how lonely Christ must have felt on that Thursday night before his death. He knew what was coming and really couldn’t share it with anyone. Even if He tried, mere mortals would not have understood. And to this day we still stand in disbelief of His sacrifice for us, mere mortals.
My plans for this weekend? I will humbly sit in church on this Good Friday evening and cry because HE didn’t deserve it. Then I will joyously attend church on Easter morning and sob, because WE didn’t deserve it. Someone please bring tissue!

I always cry at the Easter service too. But for me I think about my sister and how it must be absolutely amazing to spend Easter in heaven. What a celebration that must be!
Rae says
I cry because of that thought too. 🙂
Peggy says
Well said!!
Kristi says
It is finished.

Not having to rhyme,
that doesn’t sound very fun;
but if you insist.
I’m the only church-goer in my family (and I don’t go on Easter-- it’s always crowded), but my extended family will all get together for dinner and cake in the shape of a bunny. I’m looking forward to deviled eggs and silliness.
Kristi says
Nice haiku.

Shows how uncultured I am -- I didn’t even catch that!
