I am well aware that this post will not be a winner. Bear with me – I’m having photo troubles and this is old material.
Back when I was stumped for topics, one of the suggestions from Brad was about to talk about brand loyalty. I’ll give it a shot.
In most cases, I am perfectly happy with store brands. Generic is often as good as the name brand, if you’re someone like me who doesn’t care. Generic regulars:
butter
fake honey-nut cheerios
coffee
The exceptions are:
Pepsi.
Healthy Choice 7-grain bread
Dove sensitive skin soap
Minute Maid orange juice
Interestingly, Lloyd prefers the Wal-Mart brand of plastic wrap. It holds tight and lasts forever. In our whole marriage, I think we are on our fifth roll.
So, that’s it. Are you brand-loyal?
I’m definitely brand loyal. …except for when it comes to toothpaste. I like to switch brands each time I buy more.
Pepsi. Kraft mac-n-cheese. Jack’s frozen pizza. Maruchan ramen noodles. OPI nail polish. Cruel Girl jeans. And ALL cereals.
That’s just a start…
Kraft mac’n’cheese… There is no substitute in the mouth of a 7-year-old.
I had to erase my comment because I started to say I’m not very brand loyal & started to recite the exceptions…and it turns out I am mostly brand loyal. But if I find a good generic, I will use it.
Store brand (Weiss only): some meats, maple syrup, OJ, toilet paper, kleenex
Loyal: Coffee-Folgers, frozen vegetables- Birds Eye; ketchup-Heinz; all junk food-no fake Oreos, cheese curls or Taskykakes for me
I only have one brand loyalty (that I know of)--Nesquick cocoa.
Heinz ketchup, Taco Bell taco seasoning, Pepsi & Coke products, Miracle Whip.
Oh, there’s no substitute for Cheetos. Nothing comes even close.
Hershey’s chocolate syrup.
Oh, and Dove Sensitive Skin soap and antiperspirant/deo.
