What could it be?

What could it be?

Gadget, Journal

For me, the fun part of going to the surplus auctions is looking at all the weird things that are sitting around and trying to figure out what they’re supposed to be and what they’re used for. Most of these items don’t come with instruction manuals, so you have to look at all the parts and how they fit together and imagine what it could possibly do. It’s fun.

This contraption was there on Saturday, and I’ll just let you take a look at the photos and you see if you know what it is. I’ll post our incorrect guess, then our correct guess, then proof of the correctness. Good luck!

Ok, I changed my mind. The rules to Bossy Lauren’s Game now go: Make your guess in the comments, then come back and click here to see what it is. Or, do what you want – apparently I can’t control you, dang it.

This looks like something one would use to keep minnows alive.

OK. Wow. I don’t think I would ever need one of these, and that’s why my answer was so wrong.

It’s a container for delivering organs for transplants?

I thought it was a contraption to allow your snakes and gerbils to cross safely between two tanks. That sounds like a kids game. “Hey! Lets play snakes & gerbils.”

It’s a contraption for zapping the worms to come up out of the ground into the cooler. Then you can go fishing.

I can only hope it’s an old fashioned portable air-conditioner & that you bought it to send to me!

I swear I didn’t look 1st. I just thought, Hmmm…a cooler with pipes and a motor…not to mention I would love a ‘carry with you’ air conditioner. Not that big of course.

It’s a cooler to keep pipes and smaller coolers cool.

As for my real guess, it is some type of refrigeration device.
