All open.

All open.

Cheap, Journal

We haven’t turned the heat on yet, and the nights have been a little chilly. The house temperature has been hovering around 60 degrees or so. I’m not concerned, since space heaters in key areas at key times are working out fine for now.

Today, though, I wish I had come home an hour earlier when it was still about 70 degrees outside. As it was, I came home when the outside temperature was 67. Do you know what I can do now? I can open every single window in the house and let that relatively hot air in! In half an hour it got three degrees warmer in here! Woo-hoo!

No after-window-installation update yet. I was waiting for the sun to be out to take some decent photos. (The sun was out today, but I was sleepy.)

Congratulations on being able to open the new windows. I don’t know about your old windows, but some of my windows are painted shut.

Can you get enough of the beautiful views out your windows now?

To Brad: I believe out of the 30 windows we have (including basement), 14 were un-openable due to paint or something. (I never tried to open the basement windows, so I don’t even know if that was possible.) A handful of the ones that could open were because we cut them loose from the paint and banged on them until they bent to my will. Open! Open!

To Dad: It shows the ‘lovely’ view of my neighbor mowing part of my yard. Oh, the shame. 🙁

Only you, Lauren, can get excited over a three degree temperature change.

YAY for being able to open the windows!! Fresh air is the best!

I haven’t turned on our heat & won’t until other occupants have icicles hanging from their ears.

My most repeated line this time of year: Put on a sweatshirt…er, put on two.

If you’re wondering what to get me for Christmas, might I suggest sweaters.

    New windows!! Yay!

Looks like a great fall housecleaning event, also. I haven’t done that yet. (And probably won’t) 🙂

We haven’t really cleaned either, we’ve just moved all the junk to the spare bedroom, as is the custom around here when cold weather arrives.

Everything looks so bright and cheery -- more like spring than fall.
