Well, it looked like a glorious day full of nothing. I made breakfast, sat around, then thought it was such a gloomy morning I’d like to make a campfire. Trouble was, all my firewood was wet. No problem:
A little while later I was enjoying a crackling fire in a light drizzle, and just as the last sticks were thrown on, the sun burst out and made the whole scenario ridiculous.
After a shower to wash off the smoke, Lloyd and I ran a few errands. One stop was the garden center, where an appreciative tabby cat (sitting in a box of onion sets) accepted my scritching while Lloyd picked his poison.
Literally. He mixed up several batches and dosed the yard.
I took the opportunity to look at the flowers. The columbine are in full bloom. I like them for two reasons:
1) they are the state flower of Colorado
2) they look like dragon heads.
I tried to get a shot of the inside of each ‘trumpet’.
Then I saw the chives had blossoms. Marissa, of Food in Jars, has a cool post about making chive blossom vinegar. I’d like to try it, but I noticed my blossoms have tenants.
For the record, that is the size I was expecting of Lloyd’s jumping spider. No one could fear this little guy.
Ahhhh. How was your Saturday?
