Surprise! We were in Colorado! My Dad was having a barbecue to celebrate 50 years since his ordination, and we came over to eat the food.

It was very nice, and we knew that Mark was going to be here to help make food for me. There was a little surprise, though…..

Matthew and Rachel came along, too!!! It was such a surprise to see them, and I know Mom and Dad were over the moon about it.

It was a great day – we had a little rain before the party, and enough wind to tip over one of the portable shelters, but by the time the brats started cooking, everything was perfect. Many, many people came to horn in on my food celebrate with my parents. I’m so glad they have so many people who love them here.

We’re on our way home today. It seems like such a short trip, but I’ll come back again if they promise to feed me like this. 🙂

Congratulations and God’s blessings, Pastor Hoffman!

So food is the secret, Lauren? You know, they have incredible feasts on cruise ships. Would it be enough to make you forget you were on the ocean if you just kept eating the entire time?

  1. Rocky Mountain High (in Colorado) – Part 2 « Mark’s Blog - July 21, 2011

[…] The next day, Sunday, we ate breakfast and went to church.  The boy behaved really well, singing and praying. The party for dad was that evening, and we kept Matthew up a bit later, with mom giving him a bath at the house instead of the hotel.  Aunt Lauren paraded him around “like a trained monkey”, showing how he could hand out communion.  I helped cook the brats, Aunt Lauren dished out ice cream and a good time was had by all (Photos and a brief description at Lauren and Lloyd’s blog) […]
