Our friend Kris was in Lincoln Saturday with her daughter, Hayden, for the Flatland Juggling Festival. (More about that later.)
We met up for breakfast this morning at an awesome truckstop diner. It was great chatting and eating all the wonderful foods breakfast has to offer – omelets, french toast, eggs, hash browns, bacon, and more important than bacon: coffee. Our waitress was a shockingly older lady with a bit of The Tremors in her hands. (Shaky Me saw my future.) Deborah said she was the same waitress she had last time she was there, so we speculated that she owned the place.
Ok, enough about the best meal of the day. The real star of the day was the Juggling Festival! Not since the Ukulele Festival of 2005 have I seen such a friendly group of fanatics. It was just the best place ever – lots of people who were passionate about juggling, all sharing their love of the craft. All levels were welcome, although I don’t think they knew what my level was. I am in the ‘I can’t catch anything so don’t throw anything at me’ level. When I go to baseball games I warn all the people around me that it is their responsibility to save me from foul balls, otherwise I’m a goner.
I think I can best show the day in pictures. No photos from the excellent show in the evening, though, but still wonderful nonetheless.
Oh, I should explain the couches. I thought they were part of the venue, but the Lincoln Juggling Clup is/was called the “Under the Couch” club because that’s where the dropped balls roll. They brought all those couches in just for the festival. Hilarious!

It looks like a fun day! I’ve always been amazed by juggling.

Amazing! I’ve tried to juggle before…haven’t we all? It looks so fun & easy. But it obviously takes alot of coordination & I can barely walk without falling.

Oh, that is awesome! Thanks for taking us along.
