Lloyd, you’ll be glad to know, is going to the doctor on Tuesday. I just want the whole world to know that I told him to go to the doctor last week (Best Wife of the Year Award) but did not actually make an appointment for him (Worst/Laziest Wife of the Year Award). Anyway, he’s going to see what the deal is. It’s a lingering cough, fatigue and a bad headache. I’m guessing they’re going to recommend a beardectomy, since his body can’t sustain so much hair without turning on itself.
He asked that I stop after and get some non-nighttime cough syrup, so I went to WalMart and had a little freak out session in the medicine aisle. They used to sell Delsym in a slightly larger bottle, but now it’s this weeny little three-ounce bottle for nearly TEN DOLLARS.
TEN DOLLARS.
I bought headache medicine (not acetominaphin because we’re thinking that’s causing the night sweats), stomach medicine for me (because I want to play, too), nectarines and cuties for their healing properties, and TWENTY DOLLARS worth of cough syrup.
TWENTY DOLLARS.
Six ounces.
That’s A HUNDRED DOLLARS AN OUNCE.
