Last week I noticed that the cushion on the stool where I live is pretty disgusting-looking. It has served me well for seven years, and the seat has seen hours of Internet viewing and countless meals. (I am a sloth who eats every meal here.)
So, I ripped off all the fabric and foam, and then realized I didn’t have any of the stuff to fix it. So…. for a week I had to use my computer like it was a standing desk. While that’s much healthier, it is certainly more awful.
Today (Saturday) was an incredibly productive day. I found some fabric that was intended to cover the dining room chairs (a project months in the works, heavily delayed) and cut apart a mattress pad for the foam.
I got the stool recovered, did three loads of laundry, started sorting papers for taxes, and washed some windows. Of course, it was all done in a very ADD way – five minutes on each project before moving to the next one, with many, many breaks for ice cream-eating and cat petting.
It’s done, though! Woo- hoo!

I’m trying to remember the original story of that stool. Wasn’t it unintentionally backless or something, or am I remembering the story wrong?

I forgot to link to its purchase. It was a super-deal at Slumberland, and you were there! Here is the link.

You forgot to mention painting at my house, again. Thank you!
Lauren says
Oh, yeah! That, too!

It looks like Lloyd’s Hawaiian shirt. You could bring it to the family reunion for pictures so you wouldn’t have to stand so long.
Oh, and yeah productivity!
Lauren says
That is an excellent plan. 🙂
Lauren's dad says
Did you forget to put new socks on it?
Lauren says
The front socks are actually new. Ralph keeps stealing the socks and hiding them about the house. fist shake at Ralph 🙂

That cover is beautiful!!!! Did you use one of Lloyd’s shirts to make it? And I’m amazed at you for being able to spend so much time on a backless stool. I goita have a back.
Kudos to you & your productivity! I had a pretty productive day too.

The fabric was purchased a long time ago. Our dining room chairs (an auction purchase) are covered with different kinds of fabrics, but they are so worn out now they have holes in them. Lloyd and I went to Joanne’s Fabric and raided the clearance remnants to recover them. Unfortunately, we did not do the calculations correctly, and most of our neatly-folded, rolled and tagged remnants were plenty long but only a foot wide. Grrrr…. This was the only piece that was big enough to cover a cushion.
