So, we’ve been hearing crickets in our basement for a couple of weeks, and it’s no big deal. Old house, unfinished basement – it’s to be expected. This morning, however, we were downstairs getting the recycling gathered together and it was incredibly noisy. “We either have a bunch of crickets down here or we’re really boring,” I said. Lloyd lept into action and started the Great Cricket Hunt of 2008. The total is too embarrassing to post, and we haven’t caught them all yet.
Cricket (the cat) has actually been trying her best to keep the population down. The past few days I’ve found dismembered crickets (the bug) under my computer stool. Awwww…. nothing says “I love you” like a dead, legless insect.

Aren’t crickets supposed to be good luck? You must have a TON of luck. I bet you could jump off a building and still survive! That would be cool.

Please don’t try that, Lauren. It might very well work, but then again…

Sweet Potato Queen is at 5:30 on Sunday evening. Brad may be in a better position to get a picture of her (although he may require someone to pay for his parking). I have dinner plans at 6:00 and as much as my wife loves me, she is not going to let me sneak out at the time when we have company coming over. Sorry Lauren.
Lauren says
That’s ok, Brady. As a current Wife of Someone, I can assure you that yes, you would be killed if you bailed on the company.
Brad, can you do it? I only want a picture of her if she’s holding a laptop set to LloydandLauren.com. 😉
Peggy says
I hope you get your picture of Sweet Potato Queen!!
And how in the world are you ever fast enough to catch crickets?!?! Or are they all just chillin’ out in a love lock-in down in the basement after helping themselves to what’s growing in your back yard?
