This was the last day to see some of my family. After a great lunch at Sonic, Phil and his family and my Aunt Marcy and Uncle Rich went back to their respective homes.
We hung out here at the hotel for the rest of the afternoon and got to see a torrential rainstorm – something that Keren and her boys wanted to see. (I was actually driving in it, but don’t tell my mom.) They don’t have big thunderstorms in Alaska.
Then it was off to say good-bye to Rachel, Mark & Matthew, then on to my Aunt Ruth and Uncle David’s house for dinner. Cousin Erik and Heidi met us there as well.
After dinner, the boys did some Manly Stuff – shooting a BB gun at cans of beer, and lighting fireworks. Grandpa had asked Lloyd to buy some bottle rockets on the way to Missouri, and Crazy Uncle Lloyd was more than happy to oblige.
By the way – Heidi is a great shot. She is both beautiful and great at Manly Stuff. 🙂

BB guns and fireworks? Awesome. I am sure Lloyd rigged up some way to ignite the fireworks with the bb gun. It is simple chemistry and physics.
Oh, and why isn’t there any comments posted already. It is after 8:00am. Don’t tell me all of you teachers have learned to sleep in.

I got up at 5am this morning. I took my mom, dad, and aunt to the airport. But I didn’t get up with enough time to spare so I could comment.
Brad says
Did Lloyd get good at BB gun shooting?
You have a rabbit in your garden.
Lloyd says
I was on fire. 4 for 5 with the BB gun from roughly 3 miles away. I don’t know who’s idea it was, but for targets we were using live beer cans… Ping… Schpurge… That’s the sound of beer shooting everywhere.
Curt says
Tell me you weren’t using anything but Natural Lite.
Lloyd says
That was my first concern as well, but they assured me that it was Miller Light (functionally identical to Natural Light).
Peggy says
What fun! Glad your last night with the family went out with such a bang!
(sorry…what is wrong with me today)
Rachel says
BB’s and Fireworks?!?! you did all the fun stuff AFTER we left? we can’t do ANY of that stuff in Cali. Even with a bounty of Miller Lite on hand……
