We went to a Trivia Night fundraiser for St. John school’s 125th celebration, and it was quite fun. Well, the food, the festivities and the people were great! The questions were not as fun because they made me feel like a complete and utter moron. My table – the Royuks, the Pesters, Curt, Annette, and Lloyd – were all doing well. I was trying not to say anything too stupid. The first round of questions were all about past Presidents and took a loooooooooooong time to be over, and I was worried this was going to be more like a MENSA test than a pursuit of trivia. Fortunately, it wasn’t.
They had 10 rounds of 10 questions, and our group finished somewhere in the middle. They had individual contests, too, and Beth almost won for having all kinds of crazy stuff on her person – a credit card, an insurance card, a membership card, a lipstick, a key, a ring, a calendar, a writing instrument, an address, a piece of technology, a tissue, a picture of someone not in your family – but she lost due to the lack of a nickel. C’est la vie. She and Harold made up for it by each winning a pie in a drawing.
Thanks for the fun night, St. John! Thanks, Mr. & Mrs. Royuk!
Brad says
Yay for pie! I always win cakes and pies at silent auctions. It’s a specialty of mine.
Kristi says
That is quite the spread. I take it there were no questions regarding preschoolers or prototypes???
Lloyd says
There were actually several questions where Lauren’s preschool skilz were utilized. She knew, for instance, that the animal in the book Have You Seen My Momma? (or some such) was a baby bird.
But she proclaimed just loud enough to be heard that it was a lama.
Lauren says
That was actually Annette throwing others off our trail.
Annette says
Lloyd, I believe it’s Llama!
Peggy says
That sounds like so much fun!! Seward is a fantastic place filled with fantastic people?
I always stink at geography & sports trivia. I don’t care about the sports, but shouldn’t I know that the country Andorra (of course shouldn’t I first know that Andorra is a country)is located in between France & Spain before I know Lucy’s exact dialogue for the Vitameatvegamin commercial. ‘Hello folks…I’m your Vitameatavegamin girl. Are you tired, rundown, listless….
Amy says
Sounds like a lot of fun! I think I would’ve won that random object contest, I have most of that in my purse right now!
Lloyd's Mom says
Sounds like a good time was had by all.
