We had some surprisingly warm days this week, and on Wednesday I came home to all the windows being open. I walked in and yelled my new standard saying, “They’re not magic windows!” Lloyd seems to think that not only can they keep out the cold, they can also heat the air.
Well, his good intentions broke the furnace. It might have been a coincidence, but when I tried to turn on the heat before bed, it wouldn’t work. The next day, when it got a little cooler – I forgot to call a repair person. I loved it! It was just like old times!
I set an alarm for Friday morning (so I wouldn’t forget again) and called Seward Appliance, and someone came by today and fixed it. Not much of a story, but hey – it’s Friday night and I’m really, really tired. Can’t this be enough for now?
What are you doing with your Saturday?

I can’t help it.. I love having the window open @_@
squeee!!!!!!!!!!
Amy says
68 degrees is too warm to sleep in ^^”
Lloyd says
Agreed. There aren’t any vents open upstairs, so it’s appreciatively colder where we sleep. Lauren could tell you to the degree.
Amy says
We have water running a long the sides of the rooms. (I can’t remember the real words for it…)
and we have a pellet stove, but it doesn’t get all the way upstairs. ^_^
Brad says
It has been warm here the last couple of days. I’m tempted to turn off the heat. But I know more cold is coming. Today we have crazy-strong gusts of wind as today’s high temperature will be 20 degrees cooler than yesterday.
Kristi says
Yay for opening the windows! We did that, too, this week.
Today is cleaning day. We’re also taking our home movies from small videocassette and burning them onto DVDs. It’s time to jump into the 21st century.
Peggy says
I have old 8 mm film of me when I was a kid. I’d love to put these on DVDs, but I have no idea how to do that or who to take them to.
Any ideas? Lloyd?
Lauren says
Years ago we had a company that put my parents’ old movies onto videotape. I bet there are places that will put them on DVDs now, or perhaps upload them straight to YouTube! (I’m kidding about that last bit.)
Beth says
I’m headed up to Omaha for the State Wrestling Tournament. YAY!
Peggy says
I drove home from yesterday with my car window open. The sky was blue, nice breeze on my face, beautiful scenary on the country roads…it was great! Simple pleasures.
After I few errands this morning, my day is wide open. I can’t wait to see how I fill it.
Kristi says
You drove home “from yesterday.” That is so poetic!!!! I love it.
Christina says
I’m at work, but it is drizzling rain, so I wasn’t going to get my back porch stained anyway!
