Saturday was a productive day. I got the house fairly clean, we had lunch with the Kolliparas, and I did load after load of laundry. For the final load, I had a handful of kitchen towels and asked Lloyd to go get the two bath towels from the hamper upstairs. I was going to just wash them all together with a splash of bleach. They weren’t all white towels, but I was just after the germ-killing power.
We each threw our armfuls in the washer, I started it up, and went about my evening. (Catching up on Hulu.com shows.)
Um, there was a blue sweater in with the towels.
Here are the kitchen towels with a white sheet for comparison.
Dang it, Lloyd! Didn’t he know that this is the sweater I have left in the bottom of the hamper for weeks and weeks because it needs to be washed with similar items, and we are not going to have any similar items until next fall?? Sheesh. It’s not rocket science.

Doesn’t adding a touch of blue to whites keep them from looking yellowed? Isn’t that why little old ladies once (and maybe still do) have blue hair? You’re just doing things the traditional way.

Thank you for putting the best construction on everything.
Gretchen says
Congratulations on your new set of towels!
Lauren says
Ha! Also BCOE. 🙂
Peggy says
So the sweater made it thru unscathed with the bleach?
I would call this a success! Blue towels are just fine….a blue sweater spalshed with white spots, maybe not. (I’ve had quite a few clothes with unwanted white splatts)
Lauren says
Yeah, what’s up with that? It was a tiny amount of bleach, though. Perhaps that’s what released the blue from it’s proper place?
