Musical messin’ around

January 19, 2013 by Lauren 4 Comments

1. It occurs to me that I didn’t show you the front of the olive oil brochure.

It's so swirly!

It’s quite pretty, and the background shows a lovely technique – dropping food coloring in water. It’s also the way to tell if you have a leaky toilet tank. (Drop some food coloring in the tank, check the bowl several minutes later. If the water is colorful, you have a leak. A beautiful, beautiful leak.) That’s how I found out about it – we had a leak in one of our bathrooms. I tested that toilet over and over, and had to show the preschoolers soon after that. (In an old fishtank, not a toilet. I’m not crazy.) It was mesmerizing.

2. Ever since I linked to the ‘Turning Japanese’ song from a few days ago, the one line that I know from it has been stuck in my head. Friday night I messed around with Garage Band on my computer and recorded it. This morning, I messed with the vocal settings – making it sound like a bunch of mice! Hilarious! (Don’t googling other versions of the actual song, though. They’re a bit raunchy and I want to spare you.)

3. For this post, I have combined those two things. Nope, nothing else productive was done today, and that. is. wonderful.

That is beautiful. And very soothing to watch. I must watch it again when I am feeling stressed.

That is so lovely! In the beginning it sounds a little like dolphin sounds. I love dolphins! You’re so creative & quite the inventor!

Those swirling colors would make a great computer background…is there a way to do that?

Can we do requests? I have had “867-5309/Jenny” stuck in my head since yesterday.
