Whew! The Peperkorns arrived Wednesday night around 6. We had a grand old time, and Deborah and some other college friends stopped by, too. There was much talking, laughing and reminiscing amongst us. It was great!
I have been opening at work this week, so I sneaked out of the house before 6 and didn’t get to bid them a fond farewell. Arriving home this evening, I did find a bottle of creme de almond(?) that had been knocked off a high shelf in the basement by some furry knuckleheads. I spent the better part of an hour crouched on a mottled, disintegrating floor (with a flashlight because it’s a dark area) mopping syrupy, dried liquor – full of shards of glass, mind you – bit by bit with paper napkins. Then vacuuming, then mopping, then vacuuming again, then mopping.
Good times. Wednesday night, I mean. Not tonight.

Almond liqueur is Amaretto, right? Mmm.. that’s good on ice cream.

Do the raised, empty glasses indicate a need for the barkeep to fill ‘er up again???

Ha! We’re all old, and can’t drink like we used to. My cocktail was called ‘Tang’ (on the rocks).
