For some weird reason, Baltimore Michele only likes licorice. (You’ll have to read her comment here.) I’m sure she was dropped on her head as a child, and we all can, and should, pray for her recovery. In the meantime, I happened to visit ‘Licorice International’ in Lincoln, which carries many different brands of licorice from all over the world. No kidding. It’s a ‘store’ filled with ‘shelves’ that hold ‘boxes’ of ‘licorice’. What is this place – candy purgatory? Give me the Spree Store – now that has a future!
Brad says
What’s that child doing in the first picture? Is he just gawking at the horror of it all, or is he one of them?
Annette says
I would guess however, that you did find some interest in the store because of clever packaging.
Jill says
Is it JUST black licorice or are there other flavors?
Peggy says
Plain black licorice is gross … but what about after it’s been jelled & super sugar coated as in black jelly beans … yummy!!
Peggy says
And off the topic: I made a bacon mat last night … it turned our great!! Except my son ate the whole mat himself. I will need 4 packages of bacon to feed in the future.
Lauren says
Awesome! How does he feel today?
Peggy says
He ate 3 BLT’s and than the last piece of the mat just by itself. (I did manage to eat the 2 left over pieces, not part of the mat.) He’s fine today … youthful stomach / intestines I suppose … stupid youth.
Brad says
He ate the whole thing? Haha! I ate just a quarter of a mat and felt greasy-queasy. Is he in the bathroom a lot today?
Deanne says
Is this a bacon mat? http://www.instructables.com/id/EBLJCRZF2FRVHQ5/?ALLSTEPS
I think we might have to implement that.
Lauren says
Why, yes it is! That’s where I got the idea, but ours turned out much more even than the instructables pictures. That’s kind of miraculous around here. http://lloydandlauren.com/?p=794
Deanne says
I’m really afraid that we’d like it a lot, make it every weekend (with thick-sliced bacon, no less), and then we’d have to just roll each other around! Doesn’t matter, we’ll still have to implement!
Lauren says
We are eating some sub-par bacon tonight, fried up in a pan because I’m in a hurry, and yes, I wish we were mattin’ it tonight.
Lauren says
As far as I could tell, not being a connaisseur of licorice, it was mostly black licorice. I saw one bag of red, one bag of ‘variety’ stuff, and some things that looked like giant Tic-Tacs in a bag -- who knows what was in them.
