Tonight I sewed (badly) a napkin full of beans. Not magic beans – just regular beans…… with the magic ability to stay hot! We’ve used socks full of beans as foot warmers for going to bed (more on that later), but these are nice for putting over your shoulders or sitting on while watching t.v. Just nuke ’em for a minute or so, and you have nice, soothing heat. It’s stitched in a terrible grid, and I ran out of beans, so there’s no close-up shot.
Speaking of foot warmers, my super-gadgety bed is too efficient. Our bedroom is at about 63 degrees, so it’s awesome getting under the giant down comforter and getting toasty. However, at 3 a.m. I’m boiling. The mattress warmer is even on a timer so it shuts off at midnight. There’s just no pleasing me.

I’m sitting in front of a space heater right now and my feet are sweating. Mmmm… sweaty feet… There’s nothing better on a cool Fall morning.

I was camping a couple of weeks ago, and so I prepared with blankets & fleece & long underwear. I woke up sweating in the middle of the night. I wanted it to be cooler outside.
This means, of course, that you can turn the temperature down to 58 at night. Just think of all the money you’ll save!

I think that Lloyd will need all the hair he can grow with the cooler temperatures in the house.

Please tell me you don’t sleep in socks too! I just turned my heat on last night, and I too had to shed the covers. And I only sleep in a tank top.

Hey, no bears on this site. Shoo, bear!

It has been a very comfortable 62 at night here. We have the windows open and are really enjoying not having the A/C on all the time. Of course it is going to be close to 90 this weekend. Enjoy some cold for me! he he!
