So, 9 p.m. rolled around again and I wandered around the house looking for some post fodder so I could go to bed. Unfortunately it’s the biggest cold snap of the season and I left my point-and-shoot thermometer at school. I took some pictures of the kitchen windows using my probe thermometer, and was surprised at how cold it was behind the towels ‘curtains’.
Yep, ‘Lo’. It only reads to 32 degrees. (It’s 66 on this side of the towel curtain. Dnag it!) Time for an experiment! We’ll see if a shot glass of water will freeze on the window sill. In the control group, I’ll also put a shot glass on a non-towel-covered window, rare though those may be in this house. Brad, I’m sure you’ll be up before the results are posted.
UPDATE: Riddle me this. It didn’t freeze – not even a little on the top. Was the window sill too warm? That’s my guess, since hte water itself is below 32. Hmmph.
