I found our first Hobo Sign in front of our house today. Unfortunately, I do not read hobo, and it does not appear to be any of the documented symbols. Anyone have an idea?
Yes, That makes more sense than mine. I was thinking something like, “It is diabolically difficult to transcribe perpendicular lines inside circles here.”
Brad says
It looks like a combination of “keep away” and “get out fast”. Do you think it is a reference to your hard brownies and sugarless cookies?
Lloyd says

Lauren says
I thought it was an incomplete exclamation point bunny. Anybody remember those?
Beth says
I was thinking “turn right here”, “turn left here”, “get out fast”.
Clearly they have heard there is no heat for warmth at the Sommerer’s house.
Rae says
Sly cat (closed eyes -- can’t see them) with small smirk looking out window at me from this house. Beware!
Lloyd says
Ha!
Deanne says
Comin’ out of left field here, but I think one of the neighbor kids took advantage of a little sunshine to do some sidewalk art.
Lloyd says
Boy, that is out of left field. Things must be pretty bad in Washington if you have neighbor kids who have turned to the hobo creed.
Is there some sort of assistance program that could help them?
Deanne says
Heck, yes! Here in Washington, we have programs for EVERYTHING! And you schmucks in Nebraska get to PAY FOR THEM!
Deanne says
Well, and we schmucks in Maryland get to pay for them, too.
Karla says
I think it’s a hobo crop circle…
Kristi says
This is what one of the neighbor kids thinks Lloyd will look like once he cuts his hair and trims his beard.
Curt` says
I think is means “devil inside”

Brady G. says
I’m pretty certain it says “thank you Lauren for sending the soap nuts to Lark Gurganious.”
Beth says
You flew your Noah all the way to Seward just to write thank you on the sidewalk. Genius.
Lauren says
&$(! That’s hobo for ‘You’re welcome!’ (Or it’s a swear. I’m not sure.)
Peggy says
I think it means, ‘I had to plunge this toilet when I used it today…move on to the next house’
Beth says
HAHAHAHAHA!!!
Curt says
One of my favorite songs.

Lauren says
I was SO afraid you were going to RickRoll me.
Lloyd's Mom says
Looks like a snowman to me. Someone doesn’t want winter to end.
