Maria, are you for real?
We got this very nice e-mail from Maria. She says she’s a ‘fan’, but I’m not sure if it’s for real or not.
Once we got an e-mail from a lady who was trying to get us to put a coupon for Snuggle fabric softener on our site, but I wrote back and said, “Um, have you read about how I do laundry? I’m not really a pro-fabric softener person – more of a ‘beat clothes on a rock and then hang them on a stick in the wind’ kind of laundry fan.” Yeah, she didn’t really care about me, she was just someone searching for blogs that mentioned laundry. (Which I mention ad nauseum.)
Anyway, Maria seems to think that we have some sort of eco-aestethic, which is gratifying to my eco-ego, but I don’t know – I’ve been burned before by Snuggle lady.
Are you out there, Maria? Do you really like us? Do you really, really like us? If so, we will hock your pretty wares.
(Do you guys think Maria’s real? Or is she like Tinkerbell? Clap if you believe!!)
Keren Lowell says
I pan this Maria. She can not be for realz.
Brad says
At least you can trust your new friend to follow these laws:
1. Maria may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. Maria must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. Maria must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
Gretchen says
Why not just google Maria? Then you can send her some junk mail.
Lloyd says
That was my first thought exactly (well, not the junk mail bit, but I like the way you think). It turns out that there are a surprisingly large number of Maria Björnsdotters in the world. Anyway, we just wondered if she had really ever visited the site.
It’s the “Hi Lloyd and Lauren” that really makes me wonder, because that is more specific than I would think an automated system would generate.
Curt says
Have you been to the website yet? Or googled it?
Peggy says
I think Maria is a fake. But if she isn’t, Hi Maria!
Annette says
Tinkerbell or not, she has succeeded in getting her wares posted on your site. If she is real, she would send you some complimentary thank you gifts.
Quiana says
Those are very lovely pieces and I am very much into design, but you guys don’t strike me as $200 casserole dish kind of people.
Though, of course, I could be wrong.
What an interesting thing to want advertised here.
Lloyd says
Ha! Too true. I’m sure we would be very pleased to have found such interesting pieces at an auction, thrift store or perhaps dumpster diving.
But not exactly the sort of thing we’d buy.
