Today was a very nice day all around. We went into Lincoln for an auction, and I got some errands done. (The details will be stuff for future posts, but let’s just say – get ready for a crazy heating update!)
Back at the auction, I was really sleepy and took a fabulous nap in the car, but only after hanging several ‘sweaters‘ and napkins in the window to block the sun. It was pretty ‘living-in-my-car’ fabulous, and I deeply regret not taking a photo.
After the auction, we went pants shopping for Lloyd, then stopped for dinner at The Isles in Havelock. It’s a pub & pizzeria that Lloyd has always wanted to try. We were there right at the end of the Husker game, so it was fascinating for me to watch all these people be so involved. The Huskers lost, and everybody else left immediately. Poor bartender. Do you think that people stay after a win for celebratory drinks?
Afterward we went to see District 9. Here’s Lloyd for a quick movie review:
Much like The Butterfly Effect, I found that the last third of the movie nearly makes up for the pain of sitting through the first two-thirds. I almost walked out of both movies before half-time. I have not yet decided if the way the first two-thirds of the movie(s) is(are) written sets the stage for an enjoyable final third.
Thank you, Lloyd. That’s all, folks.
