It’s Christmas time again, and for the early childhood set, that means gobs of presents. We have such nice families, and every year I am overwhelmed with the generosity of others. I stand in awe of people who can give such genuinely thoughtful presents, since that is not my Love Language and I truly stink at it. (Sorry, family and friends.)
Anyway, today a little boy gave me a scarf and glove set that is So. Soft. I mean – crazy soft. I don’t know if my skin is changing or what, but I was in awe of its texture and just kept touching the scarf throughout the day. This isn’t the only time this has happened lately. Last week another little boy brought in a different sheet for his cot. The tag said ‘microfiber polyester’ which, growing up as a child of the 70’s should feel horrifying, but the texture was so light and soft it was almost like I couldn’t feel it. The closest I can get to explaining it is that it was like touching air.
So there you have it. Either stuff is getting softer or I am losing the feeling in my fingers.
