Most schools – not mine, thank you – only have a week or so left to go. Last Friday I opened the CDC, and the second person to come in was a third-grader holding his backpack horizontally. “It’s got a hole,” he said. He showed me his bag and what he meant to say was, “It has no bottom material left.”
Holy backpack. The bottom was so thinly worn in so many places, the only thing to do was to stitch the back to the front (with purple thread) and hope for the best. He unloaded several folders and notebooks, a bag of markers, 300-400 loose Pokemon cards in one compartment, and a couple of handfuls of rocks. “I think I see the problem, Ethan.”
Good thing he only has a week left.

Hehe… We have a rock collector in kindergarten. I think he’s a budding scientist. He always loads his pockets with rocks. I hope his mom checks them before using the washing machine.

You can’t have too many rocks.

We had rocks in our pockets quite often. The comment was always ” as if I don’t have enough rocks on this farm”. Hope they are arrow heads.
