My Dad called yesterday to tell me that my Mom had a fall outside. She slipped and broke her femur! The ambulance took her to the hospital where my Mom and Dad both volunteer*. It was bad enough that they were going to have to put a rod in place. My Mom’s been fighting cancer for many, many years and also has some pretty bad osteoporosis, but she’s tough as nails. Her surgery was scheduled for late afternoon. I can’t imagine how she spent the time waiting for them to fix it. I would ask for all the drugs that they had in the building.
The surgery went well. Dad called and said they gave her a spinal block and put some sort of air-pump leggings on to help with circulation?? And that they’ll start therapy tomorrow?? What?? Why are they making her work so hard? She just broke her leg, for crying out loud.
I’ll keep you updated when I know more. Please keep her in your prayers!

Her femur? Ouch! That had to hurt!
Keeping her in prayer. Thank God for good medical treatment!

I am sorry to hear this! I just hate seeing our parents get old. (Of course you and I have different parents but I feel for your parents as well as mine.)
