Yep. It snowed on Sunday. I heard about it on Saturday, but I have a healthy share of skepticism in my soul and thought we’d just see flurries. When I went downstairs for breakfast it was raining and when I went upstairs to get ready it was snowing. We drove to church in some flurries and came back out to almost an inch on the car.
It’s hard to tell how much we got because yesterday was so warm, but the streets were slushy and the branches are quite low. I looked out the living room window and was startled by how low one branch was. It looked like we had a new tree growing in the yard.
I took a broom out to shake some of the weight off, but I’m not sure it did much good. I am super-super nervous about the branch hanging over my neighbor’s pool. We have an estimate from a tree guy and I said, “Go for it”, but I wish he would have gone for it earlier.
Several houses in town lost big branches. Back in October of 1997 we had a big, wet snow and all the trees still had their leaves. You could hear branches snapping all over town.
It’s supposed to get down to 35 degrees tonight. It’s also supposed to get up to 62 on Tuesday. Crazy weather.

Thanks for posting the snow=laden branch photo?

I guess we know why God has the leaves fall off of trees before winter comes.
I almost made cookies in the shape of snowflakes yesterday. I should have done it!

We didn’t have rain or snow. It was just very cold (19-22 degrees) and all of my zinnias froze.
