Viewing recommendation

When our friend Todd was visiting with his daughter, she spent the night over in one of the dorms. The girls watched ‘Forged in Fire’ and she came back to the house recommending it highly. We watched one episode and I was hooked! It’s like a cooking contest show, but they forge blades! Four contestants are given weird chunks of metal and they have to make a sword or knife or whatever. They are judged on design and its ability to hack through stuff. Sometimes it’s a little gory, like when they test it on a squishy dummy, and there is a fair amount of swearing, but overall: recommend!

I have an eighth grader who LOVES this show. He wants to get his own forge and make knives. He’s always talking about good materials for blades and handles.
