Day camping

March 31, 2019

Lloyd and I went to Lincoln on Saturday and did several things, but i’m Saving all that for back-up posts, since it’s a dry week coming up. Instead, I’ll tell you about Sunday afternoon.

We went to Wal*Mart after church, as usual, and I said I was going to buy an annual park pass. Let me just tell you that if you are going to buy a pass, maybe don’t go on Sunday morning. No one can help you for a long, long time. It was worth it though.

After lunch, I packed up the mattress, the tent, a snack and my paper work. Off to the lake!

I couldn’t go to the normal spot because part of the road has enormous mud ruts from the flooding, so I went to a different spot and set up ‘camp’.

It was glorious. I worked to the sound of wind and waves, and even got to doze a little at the end. There wasn’t anyone around- just boats on the water and lots and lots of birds. Ahhhhhhh…..! the only way it could have been better is if I made a fire, but it was too windy and I was out of time.

Home by supper!

That sounds like a wonderful place. I’m not sure I could work there though. I’m used to the sterile surroundings of my desk.

Great getaway, Lauren! Is that going to be a regular event?
