Success!

November 6, 2006 by Lauren 8 Comments

I especially love the googly eyes.

 Mmmmm...popsicles...

The nephews have written back!  Hooray!! If you’ll remember, I sent them some self-addressed stamped postcards with the mission to draw the first thing they saw. The orange is from Charlie – eight years old. I especially like the stinky sock. (It shows we are related.)  Jacob – six – drew the popsicle, which shows that he’s a boy after Lloyd’s own heart.  We’ll be playing another round soon!>

The misspelled word also resembles Lloyd.. haha! Actually, I STILL have trouble remembering how to spell ceiling. I mean, where does that word come from anyway? It follows the “except after C” rule, but still…

c.1348, celynge, “paneling, any interior surface of a building,” from M.Fr. celer “to conceal, cover with paneling” from L. celare (see cell), probably influenced by L. cælum “heaven, sky.” Colloquial phrase hit the ceiling “lose one’s temper” is 1914

“stupid person,” 1967, originally U.S. student slang, probably from earlier meaning “penis” (1964), itself probably an alteration of dick.

Given that definition, can girls even be stupid?
