I actually got quite a bit done tonight – made dinner, did laundry, cleaned up the kitchen, started on a crazy project to be posted about later, made some lotion bars (Kate requested one), dried some apples (burnt some others) and started a batch of no-knead bread. I got the recipe here (with some vinegar and beer modifications), but the measurements got out of hand. There’s no telling how it will turn out, since you don’t bake it until the next day. The kicker is that you’re supposed to let it rise in a warm place. HA! There is no warm place around here.
Here’s a picture before it went awry.
Brad says
“With some…modifications” Heh. You always fiddle with recipes. Remind me never to work in a meth lab with you. You’d blow us all up.
Annette says
It’s all about the drugs, isn’t it Brad?
Beth says
You could wrap it in your slanket. It’s warm in there.
Deanne says
a golden slanket
Peggy says
Lotion bars? What’s that recipe?
“Tis the season to be dry-i,
blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
Itchy, flaky, I want to cry-i,
blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah
Lauren says
1 part beeswax
1 part plain olive oil
1 part (sorta 1/2 shea butter and sorta 1/2 plain olive oil)
Melt.
Add a smidge of cornstarch, pour into molds.
It used to be just a 1:1:1 ratio, but they were pretty hard. More oil made it more melty. Chapstick for your hands, especially when you wash them a hundred times a day like I do.
