The Kitchen Gang

October 25, 2010

They can't all be winners.

Peggy asked about the Beer Lizard, so here’s the story. Beer Lizard has been a member of the family for I don’t know how long. Back when we used to have the Fourth of July cookout at our house, Beer Lizard would hang by his tail from a tree – at the ready to open whatever beverage you had.

B.L. was joined by Peeler Bird when Kathryn gave it to us long ago. Again – in days I can barely remember. (Lloyd likes to call it Stripper Bird, but I don’t think that’s appropriate.)

Beth gave us Bag Hippo and PorcuScrubber a couple of Christmases ago. They seem to be getting on with the others famously.

Bag Hippo has to share the glory with a drawer full of clothespins.

His pointy nose reminds me of the glory days when Hi-C Fruit Punch came in a giant can. Glug, glug, yum, yum.

They are a fine family of animals who keep our kitchen clean, tidy, and full of peeled carrots and open bottles. Thanks, guys.

You guys are like the Flintstones! Do you have a small elephant sitting next to your sink that sprays water whenever you want to wash dishes?

    They’re so cute!!

I see the interest in polictics in your household reaches even to your kitchenware…you have your own little Animal Farm right there in your drawer. Who’s the leader, who’s the leader?
